Tonight, the Women’s Soccer team will face the Chester Cyclones for their first home game. The Junior Varsity team will play at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m.

Due to facing tough teams in preseason, the Stallions will be ready to bring the intensity and compete against Chester. Although the teams faced were very competitive and showed commitment throughout the entire game, the Stallions were able to learn from this experience and change their tactics accordingly. In return, this will benefit the Stallions in the future, hopefully helping them get a win.

Throughout practice, the soccer team has been incorporating more agility skills to enhance their performance, such as ladders and sprints.

Junior Izzy Clarke says, “I think preparing we’re coming in good because we’ve been working really hard during practice and coach has been talking to us and walking us through everything that we need to be aware of.”

Incorporating skills, such as these, will help the Stallion team be aggressive against Chester, while also being professional.

Senior Teagan Boucher says, “As a captain, I’ll make sure to tell my team that it’s not fun to win when you know you weren’t playing fair. We’re going to play aggressive and not get pushed off the ball, but we still have to respect the referees and our school.”

Even though the Stallions have prepared for their future games with intense practices, they have to have a strong mindset that will carry them throughout the game.

Boucher believes that Chester does a great job with not giving up. She thinks that even when they’re losing, they will continue to fight. The Stallions will have to set the tempo and maintain it, so that Chester isn’t able to score on them.

Going against Chester will show what the Stallions are capable of and set the tone for the rest of the season. For the Stallions to pull a win, they will have to prove that they want it and have a positive mentality going into the game.
