South Pointe alumni Shawn Scrilla is a fast rising star in the rap industry. Scrilla started out as a local rapper but has gained popularity in South Carolina and other southern states such as Georgia and Florida.

Scrilla has the support of many South Pointe students and the city of Rock Hill.

“I listen to Scrilla because he went to South Pointe and it’s great to support someone that I actually know plus his music is great,” stated Senior Trey Prince on why he listens to Scrilla.

With the release of his collab album Bone Slugs – N – Harmony with Baxkwood Bloody in January, Scrilla added more songs that his fanbase will enjoy.

In his album he included some of his already known songs such as Wrist, Militia, and Xannything is Possible. He also added new songs that have become hits to his listeners such as Introuble, Dat Sh*t, Willie May, 50k, and Lifestyle.

At the end of February he released Mulsanne a single track that featured Hoodrich Pablo Juan, who is a known rapper across the country. Having these type of features will help him gain popularity.

Scrilla’s music is mostly known to be hype but he also puts a meaning behind his lyrics.

Senior Melvin Crawford said that the main reason he listens to his music is because of the good lyrics.

With the support of the city and the South Pointe nation, the next big name in the rap industry might be Rock Hill’s own Shawn Scrilla.
