Three Stallion athletes were recognized on May 5 at 11 a.m. in the South Pointe media center at the athletic signing day. This signing day includes two track athletes and one golfer.
Jalen Pickett-Hicks, also a Stallion gridiron star, signed his national letter of intent to University of South Carolina Upstate. While attending USC Upstate he will throwing shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin.
Adisan Funke, who is called “the most dedicated athlete at South Pointe” by many, will be spending her next four years at Limestone College. Head track coach Calvin McCullough stated during the signing ceremony, “In two weeks Adisan will be a state champ in shot put and discus.” Like Pickett-Hicks, Funke will specialize in all four throwing activities.
Lastly, Justin Harrigan signed his letter of intent to Spartanburg Methodist College to play golf. During his three years of golf at South Pointe he played in county, regionals, and upper-state tournaments. Justin was consistently placing in the top six for match and tournament play during his three years of golf in the red and silver.
