Player of the Week: CJ Shannon

Sophomore CJ Shannon gets to be recognized as Player of the Week because of his last game playing on the junior varsity basketball team against Lancaster.  The junior varsity team went undefeated this year in basketball and football and Shannon was a part of both teams.

Shannon and his teammates were coached by Nakia McCloud and went 15-0 this year. Shannon played small forward and power forward. “It felt good to be a part of the first class to go back and back being undefeated,” he said.  When Shannon was asked what game he’ll always remember from this season he replied, ” When I hit a buzzer beater against our rival team Rock Hill High.”  Shannon’s highest this year was 27 points against York High School.

Shannon will be moving up on varsity next year and his biggest goal is to not only make it to state but to win. He also stated that he wants to be a contributor to the team, and not just another player.
