Monday evening the city of Rock Hill held a parade honoring the state championship titles won by the South Pointe football team (3A division), Northwestern football team (4A division), and Rock Hill YMCA all-star football team (Gray-Y).

The Stallion football team marched down Main Street in Rock Hill, led by the schools’ cheerleaders and band.

Fans of all three teams lined the streets, cheering on the state champions of what has come to be widely known as “Football City, USA.”

The parade ended at the Fountain Park in downtown Rock Hill, where the mayor of Rock Hill, Doug Echols, honored the teams and presented them with plaques. Rock Hill Schools Superintendent, Kelly Pew, and School Board Chair, Jim Vining, gave their honoring statements to the teams as well.

The head coaches of all three championship teams addressed the fans, thanking them for their support during the history making season and acknowledging their teams efforts.
